Interesting.
Anyway, lots of blink-182 goin' down recently. Lots. Like, you have no idea. True, yesterday I listened to a lot of Reggae, but I still went back to blink cuz they're the best. The absolute best.
Which brings me to something I thought about the other day: when I play bass, I tend to have more fun with punk music than with anything else. Then I thought about drums, and it's pretty much the same. Why? This part flipped me through the loop...I hadn't really thought about it before. Punk music is about having fun and making music that feels good. Then I realized why I love punk so much: I just wanna have fun. I'm a pretty laid-back dude, and I'm not opposed to a good jam session with the heads. That whole headbangin genre is sweet, but it's not fun. It just rocks, there is no fun involved. That techno bullshit: there's nothin you can do with it. You can move it like a robot all you want but it's no fun. Hip-hop: I'm not even gonna get started on how stupid it is, but you can only let the girl shake her ass while you sweay from side to side with your hands in the hair and look like a retarded child who just finished eating a chocolate ice cream cone. Hip-hop and rap are to music as etch-a-sketch is to art. Kind of, but not relaly. In fact, pretty far away. The farthest you can get but it's still somehow considered part of the genre. Oh well.
but really...punk music
Love the stuff...it's the best. There's nothing it doesn't cover: happiness, sadness (in a bright, uplifting way haha), break-ups, wanting the girl and not getting her, getting the girl and beign happy, parents fighting, politics, watching TV, boredom...even weird things like gettinga blowjob from your mom (don't ask). It's a broad expanse, with so many little side-roads to take... it's a lot like skateboarding, which is why the two get along so well.
