I've thought about this for a while and I finally decided to post it:
Heidi Wheeler's persuasion speech on abstinence was the funniest and most ironic thing I've ever heard.
Not only was the wording beyond tainted with her religion, but also were the only people she interviewed. I almost think that the only reason she's so zealous about the whole thing is because she's so annoying and unattractive that it's her only way of comforting herself into believing that she's not only doing "the right thing," but she's also not a social outcast.
The saddest thing in the world is that we, as a society and a community, base everything we think about other people solely on either religion, vocabulary, or sexuality. Heidi talked about how everyone she asked about pre-marital sex said they thought the person who engaged in such activity was below them in every aspect. That they as a person had decayed into nothingness because of their way of expressing themselves with their consensual partner.
I find it very difficult to tolerate these types of things from people. The idea that no one can mind their own business long enough to let everyone else do their own thing is the part I always find amusing. Clinton and Monica Lewinski....who cares? That's his private life, and he was running the country just fine until the American people found out about it. Suddenly everyone hated him. They pulled problems out of the woodwork to justify their newfound opinions.
Such is the condition of the world we live in.
